KERN
Legacy Health Plan added over 400 new members at
open enrollment. One of the best ways to take advantage of the
savings offered by Kern Legacy Health Plan is to use one of our
Kern Medical Center pharmacy locations. Members can receive
up to a 90-day supply with each fill.
Listed below are some tips to assist our new members in using
our pharmacy services and a list of our locations:
w
Use our pharmacy facilitator.
We can take your prescription right
here in the Kern Legacy office at 1115 Truxtun. We’ll fax it off to the
pharmacy and have a courier bring it to our office for you to pick up.
w
When you’re ready for a re ll, just give us a call.
If you don’t
have any remaining refills, we’ll be happy to contact your doctor
for you. If contacting your doctor is necessary, please allow three
to five days for us to obtain permission for the refill.
w
Use our mail-order services.
Most prescriptions can be filled using our mail-order ser-
vices. You can find our mail-order request form on our website at
Your prescription will be delivered to a location of your choosing.
w
Transfer existing prescriptions.
Existing prescriptions can be transferred from
other pharmacies. Simply stop by one of our locations and complete a transfer form.
You’ll need your existing prescription number. We’ll do the rest. Please allow two to
three days for the transfer to occur.
Need lab work?
If you are in need of lab work, stop by and
visit our Kern Legacy Health Plan draw
station. You’ll find our draw station conve-
niently located in the County Administrative
Building at 1115 Truxtun Ave.
We have expanded our morning hours to
better serve you. A friendly phlebotomist is
available from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday
through Friday. There’s never any wait, and no
appointment is necessary. Standard laboratory
tests, including blood draws and complete uri-
nalysis, can be performed at the draw station.
Make sure you bring your lab order, signed by
your doctor, with you when you come.
For those of you in the outlying areas,
there are several facilities contracted with
Kern Legacy Health Plan, so there’s no
need to come to Bakersfield. Check out
the “Provider Directory” on our website,
, to find a location
near you.
